REVIEW – SURVIVE IN SPACE

Survive IN SPACE  review - WHAT WE BELIEVE:
Survive in space is an old school arcade shoot-em-up animated - and too complicated by - elements of the engine history and advancement of RPG influence and customization. He is convincing in the scene; the scenario is interesting if not particularly innovative, and the shooting action is solid if repetitive. Overall, however, many nó customization options are not sufficient to distinguish the many space shooters already on the market.

LET THE FLOW BY YOU HATE
Despite not generic title, survive in space history is surprisingly focused. Sasaki, our protagonist, is a soldier for evil aliens have Enslaved có the universe. Turning against his master, he discovers an old intelligence in an abandoned temple, which allows photographing with có tiền the dark side of the Force more he embraces his rage and hatred, the more powerful it becomes. Then, of course, he wages a one-man, a spaceship war against an empire.

Told in levels between the cut scenes, the story is compelling widely Kymmie Pops voice of the actress, who did an amazing job expressing the narration. The voice of the protagonist, on the other hand, is petulant and grating. It reminded me of a cartoon made cheaply - the kind used chung Saturday morning to shake có amounted to half an hour Basically advertisements for figurines. Art was like putting, a painfully amateur collection, anime inspired mostly figures yet.

Rage Against the MACHINES
Anime Inspirations side survive in space is more to contemporary Japanese arcade classics coal ball underworld. The ship brightly and coldly insectoid recall a more contemporary designs are Galaga. Another influence is apparent Defender, as the enemies come from all directions, forcing you to quickly switch between the left and right to appropriate targeting.

While the action itself is perhaps a little retro and slow, the accoutrements add tons of compLexity. In addition to your standard pistol, each ship is equipped with missiles and laser guided a subject of each of a mà cooling period. There was also a "rage attacks" that increases the damage for a ship của bạn period and changes from blue to red animations.

TOO LATE TO TURN BACK NOW
Adding to the complexity is an RPG-style progression system. Experience gained applies to several categories Giua levels, each can be implemented mà. All weapon systems upgrades for your ship have extensive their own, as của character itself. Shields, speed, damage and special attacks over time can all be improved.

If that is not enough, there are a number of ships to choose khác, each with advantages and disadvantages of their own, and more time spent driving một unlock additional bonuses ship.

Tại, it does not seem to be a way to reverse one of Nhung once you have taken additional decisions. At one point I put my main weapon of a split stroke. This has two each shot fired in opposite corners, but sacrifices line with the original firearm. This has made it much harder for me to aim for, but I did not know how to get rid of it without having to start and lose all my progress.

TRY, TRY AGAIN
In add more replay value THU, each level, once unlocked, can be replayed endlessly, each time with more experience gained. You can customize the number of waves of enemies and Cung add additional risks TANG asteroids like experience.

Tại, none of this adds much appeal. The accumulation of Rewards per percentage point fractions is so slow, it seems? As a long wait có Huong significantly add to the gameplay. Repetitive levels are Themselves, as well. Types có enemies too, and interesting appear soon enough the whole game có just feels like a chore.

PEW PEW-WUB-WUB-WUB MEETS
The soundtrack, at least, is decent. It is a collection of dubstep Creative Commons license, trap and deep house. While the presence of a few tracks with vocals is a bit of a faux pas - you can not make the words on the constant beeps and laser blasts, missiles and others in the game itself - it gives some contemporary flavor what is otherwise a retro exercise essentially. "Dimah" of RAAL was a personal favorite.

However, the voice of the protagonist shows up to stop play himself back, dropping random catch-phrases into the mix. At first, I tried to distract myself by talking back to the screen, but there are only so many intelligent responses to phrases as mundane as "There will be no retreat" and "Beware of man who has nothing to lose. SPACE AND BUGS Insects
More inconvenience: survive in space has some very large display bugs. Notably, no cut scenes displayed it for me - they were only voice on a black background. I had to go to YouTube to judge the fact art. More troubling: the tutorial at the beginning of the controls of the game does not display, HOAc (fortunately, the controls are not that complicated).

Survive in space is not terrible, but the uneven presentation board and unnecessary customization options are not enough to make it stand out. Even if all you want is a retro shooter generic space, there are better options available coal it.

Survive in space is available via Steam.
